River Vale Man, 79, Hospitalized With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

A 79-year-old River Vale man was hospitalized after shooting himself on Thursday, authorities said.

He was reported in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center following the noontime incident on Central Avenue.

Police were trying to determine whether the gunshot wound was accidental or self-inflicted.
